Award-winning law firm Muckle LLP has announced three key planned promotions within its senior leadership team, reinforcing its commitment to having a strong succession plan for future growth.
Leading corporate finance partner Philip Clare, who has been at the firm throughout his career, becomes head of the corporate team. He takes over from Anthony Evans, who took the helm as managing partner on 1 April 2025.
Experienced real estate partner, Gail Bennett, has been appointed to head the real estate team. Gail joined the firm in 2012 and is taking over from Jonathan Combe, who has led the team for 30 years. Jonathan remains a partner at the firm and will continue to support Gail in her new role.
Similarly, leading education specialist Joanne Davison, who originally trained with the firm, has been named as head of the sports, education, and charities team, succeeding Tony McPhillips. Tony also continues as a partner and will provide ongoing guidance to Joanne and the team.
Philip, Gail and Joanne have an in-depth understanding of Muckle, having worked at the firm for a combined total of nearly 70 years. The three will continue to play a vital part in providing strategic leadership to help drive future continued growth, innovation and exceptional service.
Anthony Evans, managing partner at Muckle, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Philip, Gail, and Joanne into their new roles; three fantastic lawyers and leaders who have already made a massive contribution to the firm. Their expertise, dedication and deep understanding of the firm will, I am sure, enable them to be hugely successful in their new roles.
“It’s an exciting time for the firm as we build on the last ten years under Jason’s leadership. I am looking forward to working with our new team heads to take us forward.
“I’d also like to give a huge thank you to Jonathan and Tony for their immense dedication and service over many years, and for their ongoing support for Gail and Joanne.”
