Dog days are coming to Dalton Park

Dalton Park Outlet Shopping Destination is set to become dog friendly from Bank Holiday Monday 29 May and is planning a day of doggy delights to mark the occasion.

The event, which starts at 10am will include best behaved dog trials, a doggy selfie spot (with optional doggy dress up), and a pop-up market selling a whole host of canine related treats.

Hydration stations, disposable poo bags and dog waste bins will be installed at each entrance to Dalton Park and Doggy First Aid kits will be located at Customer Services between the Cadbury and Levi’s outlets.

The Dog’s Trust, which is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, will also be onsite throughout the day to raise awareness and funds.

For guests looking to enjoy some retail therapy with their dogs, participating stores will display a ‘We’re dog friendly’ window stickers and dogs are also welcome to explore the 55 acres of landscaped parkland.

Richard Kaye, Centre Manager at Dalton Park, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to announce that from Monday 29 May we will be a dog friendly destination!

“We continuously ask customers how we can improve their experience and being dog friendly is always top of the wish list – so we know we’re not ‘barking up the wrong tree!’

“The launch will be a celebration of the nation’s favourite pet and we have lots of exciting activities planned.

“We do have a few ‘dog house’ rules we are asking people to follow, including keeping dogs on a short, non-retractable lead while in the centre, using the new green dog waste bins to clean up after their pets and being respectful of customers who may be afraid of dogs.

“As a dog lover myself I can’t wait to welcome our new four-legged customers to Dalton Park!”
