Dalton Park gets set for the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas at Dalton Park will be bigger and better than ever before with a whole host of new festive family activities and treats in store for shoppers.

With so much to see and do, the launch of Christmas will now run across two events – doubling up on the magic!

The most wonderful time of the year will officially begin on Thursday 10 November when Metro Radio breakfast show hosts, Steve and Karen, will flick the switch on the stunning new, improved and sustainable Christmas light installations.

The evening will be illuminated with a thrilling firework display over the Parkland at 18:00. Late night shopping is taking place until 8pm, with food and drink stalls and entertainment to get shoppers into the Christmas spirit.

The fun continues on Saturday 12 November with the grand unveiling of Santa’s Grotto, which will be open every weekend as well as the entire week leading up to Christmas Eve.

An indoor Artisan Christmas Market will also burst into life on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November with a whole host of North East based food, drinks and crafts traders providing gifting inspiration for the entire family!

Shoppers can also take advantage of the market’s luxury Christmas wrapping service, which will be situated inside the unit next to M&S.

To help guests with any last-minute Christmas shopping, Dalton Park will also be open for an hour longer each evening, opening until 19:00 between 19 December and 23 December.

Richard Kaye, Centre Manager at Dalton Park, can’t wait to get the celebrations underway.

He said: “Christmas at Dalton Park will be bigger, better and more sustainable than ever before and we’re looking forward to seeing our guests enjoying the little joys of Christmas together.

“We are committed to doing everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint, but not reduce the brilliant experience of Christmas at Dalton Park, which we know is so important for many families and our local communities.

“We have invested heavily in new decorations that are sustainable as well as energy efficient and dazzling.

“Made from a material derived from sugar cane, we have stunning new lights across the centre and some super-sized selfie opportunities.

“Our first Artisan Christmas Markets are going to be a sight to behold and we have already signed up over 35 amazing independent businesses who all offer fantastic products – there really will be something for everyone!”

The Christmas lights switch-on event will run from 15:00 until 20:00 on Thursday 10 November.

The indoor Christmas market will take place in the unit next to M&S.
