The launch of the new NewcastleGateshead iPhone app looks to give visitors a hands-on approach to the destination this winter season and beyond.
Visitors can now download the Official NewcastleGateshead City Guide iPhone Appwith the simple touch of a button.
The groundbreaking app is one of the first to be developed and used by a tourism organisation in the UK, combining an abundance of interactive features, and supplying information on all things NewcastleGateshead.
Sarah Stewart, Interim Chief Executive at destination marketing organisation, NewcastleGateshead Initiative said; “We’re very proud to be one of the first UK destinations to fully embrace the possibilities offered by mobile technology.
“We have developed a range of resources for visitors to the ‘twin cities’, including an interactive website and handy Pocket Guide. The iPhone App is a welcome addition that can only enhance the overall experience for visitors to NewcastleGateshead.”
It has never been easier to search for hotels, restaurants and bars, or browse what’s on for festivals, shows and events. The app also allows visitors to visualise where they are in relation to top attractions, activities and popular eateries, along with the ability to plan a shortlist of all the things they want to do and see.
The content of the City Guide is selected and supplied by NewcastleGateshead Initiative to ensure visitors get the very most from their city break. Once downloaded, the app puts visitors in the centre of all things good to see and do in this vibrant city-break destination.
Already appearing on the iTune App Store’s New and Noteworthy list, the Official NewcastleGateshead City Guide iPhone App has received five-star-ratings from users eager to get to grips with the new innovation.
One reviewer who goes by the name of YellowMatter.net said; “Frequently have to go to Newcastle these days and this app does the business. Content is spot on, great pics and real detail on each bar, hotel etc. Not just name and address like most others.
