NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘best UK Convention Bureau’ category at the prestigious Meetings and Incentive Travel Industry (M&IT) Awards 2020.
The Convention Bureau helps to attract and secure major national and international conferences and events for the region, working with a wide range of venues and partners, and acts as a central point of contact for all conference organisers, providing free, impartial advice and unrivalled local knowledge.
At last year’s M&IT Awards, the Convention Bureau team took home the silver award for ‘best UK Convention Bureau’. Glasgow Convention Bureau won gold, meaning NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau can claim to be the best convention bureau in England, beating off stiff competition from many other UK cities including London who won bronze.
Finalists are decided by public votes and this year saw a total of 5,556 people placing more than 13,000 votes across all categories.
Winners will be revealed at the Awards event at Evolution London on Friday 28 February, which will bring together over 1,300 event industry professionals.
