Make a splash at the North East Puddle Jumping Championships!

This February half-term at WWT Washington Wetland Centre

(Saturday 15 – Sunday 23 February)

This February half term, children and adults alike are being encouraged to grab their wellies, get outside and join in puddle jumping championships – guaranteed fun whatever the North East weather!

Warm up in our puddle jumping practice zone before challenging your family and friends to a race around our Welly Boot Camp obstacle course complete with splashtastic puddle jumping finale.

Plus enjoy a host of other fun activities including welly wanging, a welly shy and ceramic welly boot decorating.

Adults, as well as children, are being encouraged to unleash their inner child and release every day stress by joining in the puddle jumping fun. What better way to blow away the winter cobwebs and have a splashing day out together?

WWT Washington centre manager Gill Pipes said: “We know that everyone, whether that be children or adults, love nothing more than to splash in puddles, so we’re giving them the chance to channel their inner splasher with this fun event.

“We also believe that children who love puddles can grow up to be adults that love the outdoors, so through these championships we’re gently nurturing a passion that may help protect wetlands and the wildlife that depend on them for years to come.”

The event runs Sat 15 – Sunday 23 February, self-led all day, just pick up a flyer at admissions and have a splashing time. Everyone is welcome to take part at any age. There are varying levels of difficulty throughout the obstacle course so grown-ups will be needed for smaller children.

Puddle jumping is included as part of normal admission or free for WWT members (small cost for crafts). Book your general admission tickets online and save 10% at http://bit.ly/WashingtonTickets
