Fenwick announce partnership with Sage Gateshead for a series of September musical events featuring the best of the region’s emerging artists

On the journey to champion the cultural talents of the North East, Fenwick has partnered with Sage Gateshead to support emerging artists involved in its Artist Development programmes. Throughout September, Fenwick will host artists in their Newcastle store providing a mix of eclectic and intimate musical events for the region’s music lovers.

This year, Sage Gateshead and Fenwick will celebrate various styles of music to appeal to all ages, and provide a platform for emerging artists. In a unique twist, a string quartet from Royal Northern Sinfonia, the orchestra of Sage Gateshead will also perform for an audience enjoying afternoon tea. Both Fenwick and Sage Gateshead are rooted in the North East and through this collaboration will give local artists a platform to reach new audiences.

Abigail Pogson, Managing Director at Sage Gateshead, said: “We’re delighted to be collaborating with Fenwick Newcastle to support North East artists by curating a programme of performances for Arthur’s Restaurant and Music Club. Fenwick and Sage Gateshead both have a longstanding commitment to supporting opportunities for people from the North East and this new project reflects our commitment to emerging as well as established artists.”

Leo Fenwick, Head of Brand and Community at Fenwick, said: “We are incredibly proud to be partnering with Sage Gateshead, and starting off this collaboration in Arthur’s at Fenwick Newcastle as part of our 140th anniversary celebration. Music is a common thread which brings communities together and working alongside Sage Gateshead we will shine a spotlight on the cultural talent of the North East.”
