Eldon Square to support ‘One Great Day’ with fun-filled charity weekend

Funfair favourites are set to join Eldon Square shopping malls this September as it supports ‘One Great Day’, a nation-wide charity event organised in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) and the Red Sky Foundation.

The Newcastle city centre shopping destination will host a weekend of fun-filled activities from 11am to 5pm, 4 September – 5 September for families, including ‘Hook a Duck’ and ‘Tin Can Alley’ plus roaming entertainment to surprise and delight centre shoppers throughout the weekend.

Visitors can also snap a picture with family or friends at the giant deck chair or get creative colouring in at Grey’s Quarter. Luxury fragrance brand Molton Brown will also be offering fragrance consultations for a charity donation.

All money raised from the two-day event will support GOSH Charity and local North East charity Red Sky Foundation.

Red Sky Foundation raises vital funds for babies and children with heart problems across the North East. Throughout the weekend, Eldon Square visitors can visit the Red Sky Foundation stand located in Grey’s Quarter to learn more about CPR and the importance of early defibrillation.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals with the broadest range of dedicated, children’s healthcare specialists under one roof in the UK. The money raised for GOSH Charity from One Great Day will help the charity support the hospital to give seriously ill children the best chance for life. The charity funds research into pioneering new treatments for children, provides the most up to date medical equipment, supports services for children and their families and supportd the essential rebuilding and refurbishment of the hospital.
