This December, Tyneside Cinema is celebrating the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the latest entry in the Star Wars saga, with an interactive, intergalactic family event.

The Star Wars: The Last Jedi Intergalactic Adventure Screening takes place at the Tyneside’s Pop-Up Film School (located across the road from the Cinema) where ticket holders can take part in Star Wars-themed filmmaking activities including classic scene re-enactments on their green screen, a sound effects workshop, and a chance to build your own balloon lightsaber.

There’s also a chance to meet and have your picture taken with the Dark Lord of the Sith himself: Darth Vader, along with other characters from the Star Wars Saga.

Once you’re fully trained in the ways of the Force, ticket holders can grab a drink and a popcorn before heading back across to Tyneside Cinema’s Classic screen for a screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Tyneside Cinema Director Of Film Programming, Andrew Simpson said:

“We had such a great response to our Intergalactic Adventure Screening for Star Wars: The Force Awakens two years ago, that we couldn’t resist putting another special screening on. There is a great deal of affection for the Star Wars films with our audiences, and this unique special event is an extremely fun way for them to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Intergalactic Adventure Screening takes place at Tyneside Cinema on Sunday 17 December at 12:10. Tickets are £18 for adults and £13 for children and available to purchase from www.tynesidecinema.co.uk/intergalactic-adventure-screening, in person from the box office or by calling 0191 227 5500.

Tickets include:

  • Up to 1 hour of film making activity in Pop Up Film School
  • Popcorn and Juice for children
  • Popcorn and beer or wine or soft drink for over 18s

The screening is a family event. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults and over 15s are only admitted to the Intergalactic Adventure Screening when accompanying children.

Tyneside Cinema will also be screening the previous chapter of the Star Wars saga, The Force Awakens, on Wednesday 13 December at 20:50 ahead of their Midnight screenings of The Last Jedi.
