Spice Girls at the Stadium of Light – your journey taken care of

The Spice Girls arrive at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Thursday 6 June and getting there couldn’t be easier with us.

X56 – Express from Newcastle Central Station

Buses leave from Bewick Street, opposite Newcastle Central Station, running non-stop to the Stadium of Light. Buses leave at 3pm, 3.30pm, 4pm and then every 20 minutes (at 00, 20 and 40 mins past the hour) until 6.40pm to whisk you to the show. Our buses will leave from the Wheatsheaf, close to the Stadium of Light for your journey home.

A single fare on the X56 is £4, with a return only £5 or you can buy our Spice Girls DaySaver for £6 on the Go North East app from Monday 20 May, which will cover you on all Go North East buses.

Getting there
All our buses will run on their usual routes before the concert and will stop on Kier Hardie Way or at the Wheatsheaf in Sunderland. Our 9, 20, 35A and 56 buses all stop on Kier Hardie Way or at the Wheatsheaf, only a short walk from the entry areas to the Stadium of Light.

Our 2, 2A, 38C, 39, 60, 78 and 78A buses all stop in Sunderland City Centre, where you can change onto a bus serving the Stadium of Light or walk across the Monkwearmouth Bridge.

Getting home
We’ll be running extra buses after the concert to get you home in comfort and safety too.
