New Newcastle bouldering centre

Climb Newcastle are opening a second bouldering centre, The Valley, on Monday 2nd October. The centre is going to be brilliant: a big place to accommodate the vibrant climbing scene that we have developed since 2008. But for us to fulfil the potential of such a superb space, we need your help!

Climb Newcastle was founded in 2007 by 3 well-known local climbers with a passion for the sport and a desire to bring a world-class climbing venue to Newcastle. Andy Earl, Chris Graham and Darren Stevenson opened a bouldering centre in the Old Byker Swimming Pool in 2008. Managing Director Andy is a world-champion climber and three-time British Bouldering Champion. Despite suffering a devastating stroke in 2010, Andy has propelled Climb Newcastle to one of the most respected and well-visited climbing centres in the country. So well visited is the Byker venue, that the time has come to take Climb Newcastle to the next level.

We have found a brilliant building in the Ouseburn Valley to host our expansion to a second centre and, thanks to private investment and lots of hard work, the centre will open a few weeks time. We need your support though, to help us to finish the job in style and take the centre from brilliant to breath-taking! And we’ve got some fantastic rewards, both for existing customers and people who would just like to get behind the project!
