Update for Partners

May Partnership Update

Business Leaders’ Briefing

The start of May saw the second partnership event of the year. We held a Business Leaders’ Briefing at Newcastle University for representatives of our gold and silver partners, on the topic of the ‘ageing economy’. As with our Partner Update Meeting in February, this event saw our highest ever attendance (almost 70!) for such an event, which is testimony to the expert panel which was brought together:

  • Pat Ritchie – CEO of Newcastle City Council
  • Professor Lynne Corner – VOICE, UK National Innovation for Ageing
  • Dame Jackie Daniel – CEO of Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Rhona Knox – Director of Open Innovation Procter & Gamble
  • Alasdair Greig – Director of Northstar Ventures
  • Tom Willows – Partner at Womble Bond Dickinson

We’d like to thank our panellists, our hosts and all those who attended for a fantastic event.

Business Breakfast

Our second Business Breakfast for potential gold and silver partners was held on 22nd May. The event was hosted by Sarah Stewart, Jen Hartley (Director of Invest Newcastle) and three of our board members, Michael Spriggs (Chair of Invest Newcastle Advisory Board), Abi Kelly (Executive Director of Corporate Affairs, Newcastle University)and Graeme Mason (Planning & Corporate Affairs Director, Newcastle International Airport).

Attendees included representatives from the likes of Sunderland AFC, Robertsons, Bradley Hall, Avison Young, Knight Frank and Jackson Hogg. Positive conversations around collaboration and support of the North East economy took place over an excellent breakfast provided by partners Jesmond Dene House.

New Partners

April and May also saw us welcome four new partners. Bloom Procurement Services and LNER as silver partners, and Polaris Travel and Pumpkin Squash as bronze partners.

Our Next Meeting

If you haven’t already, please sign up for our next Partner Update Meeting, 6th June at The Valley, Climb Newcastle. This event is a great opportunity to network with fellow partners, and you’ll also hear about the successful first 6 months, and the exciting next 6 months ahead.

As ever please get in touch with your key contact, or partnership@ngi.org.uk, if you have ideas of how we can work together.
