Be a Part of the fun – volunteers needed for the Cricket World Cup

Volunteers are needed for activation in Newcastle City Centre 21 & 22 June 2019

After the recent successful Newcastle Finals Rugby, and with World Transplant Games rapidly approaching this summer, we are cementing our status a a sports loving city and turning our attention to all things Cricket!  NewcastleGateshead Initiative are working together with NE1, Newcastle City Council and the Cricket World Cup team to bring another weekend full of exciting Sports related activities to Newcastle, and we’re looking for volunteers to help make the event possible!

We need volunteers for the activation taking place Blackett Street in Newcastle. As well as a chance for fans to celebrate with a screening of the matches there will be a range of sports activities, street theatre and live music.

The matches we will be screening are:

  • 21 June England v Sri Lanka
  • 22 June West Indies v New Zealand

To help make the event possible, we need a number of volunteers who can inform and encourage visitors to participate in activations and entertainment. Whether it’s helping out with the have-a-go sessions or supporting performers, the role will have a huge impact on the success of the event.

We require volunteers for a range of shifts across the two days.
