Who we are targeting and why

This multi-channel campaign will use various tactics to target UK experience seekers and city breakers aged 35-55 within a 2.5-hour drive time. The campaign aims to:  

  • Boost weekend visitor numbers.
  • Extend visitor season from October through January. 
  • Position Newcastle and Gateshead as a compelling city break destination. 
  • Attract short-break bookers (minimum two-night stays). 
  • Drive higher-spend visitors to the region. 

Campaign theme

The campaign creative focuses on the concept ‘REAL’. It’s all about creating authentic experiences for visitors and creating a genuine connection. The message isn’t just about the historic architecture, cultural offer and attractions–  it reflects the warmth and authenticity of local people.

  • REAL cosy escapes and real winter magic 
  • REAL atmosphere, real global cuisine, real finds 
  • REAL festive moments and real traditions

How can I submit an offer?

We welcome submissions from:

  • Hotels, visitor attractions, restaurants, bars, hospitality venues, retailers and leisure and wellbeing businesses
  • Offers should run between 1 October 2025 and 31 January 2026
  • Promotions must provide clear value to visitors — please include all relevant terms and conditions
  • Any exclusion dates (e.g. Christmas or New Year) must be clearly stated
  • Please ensure your listing and offer details remain accurate and updated throughout the campaign
