North East Combined Authority
The North East Combined Authority formed in May 2024. It is led by an Elected Mayor and Cabinet covering the seven local authority areas of Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Northumberland, Sunderland and County Durham. Their purpose is to champion the full potential of our region, collaborating with partners like NGI and local authorities, to create a better way of life by connecting communities, giving people the skills to succeed, and improving wellbeing for all, and so that the North East is recognised as an outstanding place to live, work, visit and invest.
Newcastle City Council
Newcastle City Council’s vision is to create a vibrant, inclusive, safe, sustainable, and modern European city by building on the heritage, cultural, and economic strengths of Newcastle as well as the sense of identity and civic pride of our people. They aim to improve the quality of life for our people in our communities and to play a leading role in the sustainable growth and prosperity of the region.
Gateshead Council
Gateshead Council is driven by the desire to provide local people with the best possible services they can. Together with residents and partner agencies, they work throughout the year to provide a huge range of services. These include services for children and young people, adult learning, community safety, tourism, housing, health, and the environment.
