1st July 2025

In February 2025, CGI acquired BJSS, a UK-based technology and engineering consultancy known for its innovative IT solutions, software engineering expertise and delivery excellence. The acquisition of BJSS aligns with CGI’s strategy to expand its consulting-led services and drive innovation in cloud, AI, data analytics, and software engineering for commercial and public sector clients.
“BJSS has a well-earned reputation for delivering exceptional value to its clients, driven by technical excellence and innovative thinking,” said Tara McGeehan, President of CGI’s UK and Australia operations. “By joining forces, we will strengthen our ability to help clients across the private and public sectors achieve measurable outcomes, such as driving efficiencies, improving customer experiences and generating business growth.”
McGeehan added: “Our companies share a strong cultural alignment and pride in helping clients solve complex challenges to deliver value. BJSS employees will benefit from CGI’s ownership culture, which empowers all employees to become company owners and actively shape our future direction, whilst providing an enjoyable and collaborative working environment where they can fulfil their career potential.”
Since the completion of the acquisition, including regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, CGI and BJSS have been working on the integration of the businesses over the last 5-6 months.
CGI’s metro business units’ model in the UK focuses on delivering IT and business consulting services within specific geographic areas, often centred around major cities and are organized to build close relationships with clients in the local market, leveraging CGI’s global capabilities.
In the North East, we now have a newly combined local team from BJSS and CGI, that will now represent the new Newcastle metro, operating from Bank House, Pilgrim Street, that will further expand its service offerings in the region, providing deeper collaboration and partnership with regional clients, while strengthening and continuing to grow our regional presence through our people, our partners and our community engagement and investment.
“Joining CGI represents an exciting new chapter for BJSS, specifically in our North East region. Both CGI and BJSS share a commitment to sustainability, employee engagement and long-term client relationships. Together, we can leverage our complementary strengths to deliver even greater value for our regional clients, while creating new opportunities for our talented team and providing greater value to the North East community and eco-system” said Marc Russell, Vice President Consulting Services (Newcastle Metro).
