Deloitte appoints new practice leader for North East

Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has appointed Stuart Cottee as the new Practice Senior Partner for the firm in the North East and Yorkshire.

Cottee is an experienced tax partner who has worked for Deloitte for 24 years. Born in Hetton-le-Hole, he and his family continue to live in the North East.

Cottee led Deloitte’s tax practice in the North East for 10 years until 2015, during which time he oversaw its transformation to becoming the leading tax advisory firm in the region.

More recently he has been leading Deloitte’s private markets business for tax in the UK and is part of the firm’s Tax Executive and Private Markets Executive teams.

Cottee said: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as the practice senior partner, leading Deloitte in Yorkshire and the North East.

“I am very proud to be from the region and of the part I’ve played in growing our business in the North East. We have fantastic partners, people and clients and I’m looking forward to working with them in my new role as we look to further grow our presence in the region.”
