Huge moving dinosaurs make UK debut at Life
Life is an amazing science centre in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne where one ticket gets you everything, making for a great value day out!

Experience The Great Dinosaur Escape as part of your day out at Life Science Centre!
Become a Dino Ranger and wander among colossal animatronic dinosaurs – follow the trail and use facts to crack a code, encountering fossils, live shows and more along the way!
- Meet a three‑tonne T‑Rex, a baby Stegosaurus and many more prehistoric beasts.
- Follow the trail around the centre and hunt down the dinosaur escapees!
- Discover how fossils help us learn about life in the prehistoric times.
- Find out what a real dinosaur might have sounded like in The Dino Show.
- Investigate the impact of asteroids in our Experiment Zone (7+).
The roar-some animatronics from Dinosaurios Mexico are making their UK debut at Life, and with everything included in your science centre ticket – it’s much more than your average dinosaur exhibition!
As well as the dinosaur activities above, visitors can enjoy the full range of permanent exhibits – it’s all included in your ticket!
Highlights include:
- Discover Lightbox, an exciting collection of hands-on exhibits. Stir up a storm in the tallest tornado tower in Europe, move your body to play with digital water and make glowing shapes with an 8-metre-high ‘string’ of light.
- Get hands-on with thrilling and interactive exhibits in Wow Zone. See yourself in an infrared camera and operate the 6-metre-tall ‘Big Machine!’.
- Watch immersive 360° domeshows in the biggest planetarium in the North, including Life: The Greatest Story, which takes you on a journey from the origins of Earth to the search for extra-terrestrial life.
- Walk in the steps of astronauts and explore inside a mock-up model of the International Space Station in Space Zone.
- Under 7s can nurture their inner explorer in our Play Zone, a fascinating world where little ones can take the lead and set their imaginations free.

From November to January, Life also hosts an outdoor ice rink in Times Square, just outside the Science Centre (Separate prices apply).
