Metrocentre Retailers Crowned Top of the Shops
27th June 2025

On Thursday evening, Metrocentre announced the winners of their 2025 Retailer Awards, which were voted on by consumers across various categories.
The annual Retailer Awards ceremony was hosted at the Crowne Plaza, with over 270 retailers participating in the race to be crowned Top of the Shops.
Awarding categories include, but are not limited to; Leisure, Health & Beauty, Womenswear, Menswear, Restaurant, and Manager of the Year awards.
The winners included Flannels, who picked up Menswear retailer of the year, and Zara who won the Womenswear category for the second year in a row. Harrods Beauty scooped the award for Health & Beauty retailer of the Year, whilst Sephora won Newcomer of the Year.
The coveted Manager of the Year award went to Darren Devlin from River Island, who was commended for exceptional trading performance during their recent refurbishment and subsequent uplift in sales off the back of the launch.
Centre Director Gavin Prior, who co-hosted the event alongside Matt Bailey from BBC Radio Newcastle, added: “Once again we had a fabulous night hosting Metrocentre’s Top of The Shops awards night that celebrates the hard work and recognises the achievements of those who work in the stores and their contribution to the success of Metrocentre.
