Metrocentre lines up free family-friendly fun for February half-term
12th February 2026
With February half-term fast approaching, Metrocentre has lined up free family-friendly fun to help keep youngsters occupied over the holidays, come rain or shine.
Metrognomes
Metrognomes Herbert, Sherbert, Maggot and Rusty have heard Metrocentre is celebrating 40 years since its opening in 1986, and to celebrate they’re planning a Very Mad Birthday Party. But the big question is – who should be in charge of the party planning? Looking for ideas, the fab four head off to the most famous party of them all, the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
Come along to Exhibition Square and watch the colourful chaos unravel, with guest appearances by none other than Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter themselves.
Shows run from Thursday 19 to Tuesday 24 February:
- Thurs, Fri, Mon, Tues: 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm
- Sat : 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm
- Sun: 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
There’s no need for tickets. Just turn up, grab a seat, and enjoy. Shows lasts around 30 minutes, followed by a ‘meet and greet’ at the front of the stage, along with the opportunity to grab a photo with the Metrognomes.
Older children and teens
For those with older children and teens, Metrocentre has plenty to encourage them to step away from their screens for a while. Everything from Clip n’ Climb, Treetop Golf and bowling and dodgem fun at Namco Funscape, to The Escapologist escape room experience, The Upside Down House and Odeon Cinema. Not forgetting a huge choice of places to eat or simply grab a quick drink or snack.
