INNSiDE by Meliá Newcastle celebrates five years of partnerships in the city
21st January 2026
This year, INNSiDE by Meliá Newcastle, part of Meliá Hotels International, is celebrating its fifth anniversary, marking five years of contributing to Newcastle’s growing reputation as a dynamic destination for business and culture.
INNSiDE Newcastle officially opened on May 17, 2021, offering a slice of continental life in the heart of the city. Located on Newcastle’s historic Quayside, the hotel has established itself as a leading lifestyle hub welcoming both corporate travellers and leisure guests, alongside B2B partners seeking modern, flexible hospitality solutions.
The hotel’s location, combined with its contemporary design and business-focused services, has made it a preferred choice for conferences, corporate stays and brand collaborations. Home to six meeting and event spaces, INNSiDE Newcastle has welcomed respected international companies for large-scale conferences and events including Danaher, a global innovator in science and industry, and the iconic North East fashion brand Barbour. INNSiDE Newcastle frequently hosts clients including Nissan, Komatsu, Sage, Siemens and Greggs, and is the hotel of choice for the region’s key football teams (Newcastle United & Sunderland A.F.C), plus Champions League football teams including PSG.
In line with the brand’s ‘Stay Curious’ ethos, INNSiDE Newcastle creates guest experiences authentic to its location, with a strong focus on collaboration with local businesses in the fields of art and wellness. New for 2026, the hotel has announced a partnership with Newcastle Red Bulls, reinforcing its commitment to working with ambitious, high-performance local brands that embody the energy and innovation of the region. Through the partnership, INNSiDE Newcastle will collaborate closely with Newcastle Red Bulls on events, activations and business-focused initiatives.
INNSiDE Newcastle also works closely with the renowned Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, through a year-round partnership that sees the Baltic transform the INNSiDE Newcastle gallery space into a vibrant hub for contemporary creativity, offering guests and visitors the opportunity to experience world-class art in a dynamic new setting. Local artist James Dixon (aka Lines Behind) has also contributed murals and merchandise within the hotel, further embedding local culture into the guest experience. Other community-driven events include a partnership with the Croissant Run Club Newcastle – a free, quarterly 5km group run starting and ending at the hotel, followed by a “hydration session” featuring fresh fruit, juices, and pastries.
Katie Cunningham, General Manager of INNSiDE by Meliá Newcastle, commented: “Reaching five years in Newcastle is a significant milestone for us. The city has an incredible business and cultural community, and we’re proud to be part of its growth. Our new partnership with Newcastle Red Bulls reflects our shared values of community, performance and pushing boundaries, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.”
Looking ahead, INNSiDE by Meliá Newcastle plans to build on its first five years by strengthening partnerships, expanding its B2B offering and continuing to support Newcastle’s position as a thriving destination for business and innovation.
