Everything to know about Ladies Day in Newcastle this weekend
24th July 2025

Excitement is reaching fever pitch as Newcastle prepares for one of the standout events in the racing calendar — and this year’s Ladies Day is shaping up to be the biggest since before the pandemic.
With thousands set to descend on Gosforth Park, anticipation is sky-high for a day packed with fashion, fillies, fizz and live entertainment.
“We’ve seen phenomenal demand this year — it’s been our strongest since before Covid.” said Paul Elliott, Executive Director at Newcastle Racecourse. “The buzz around Ladies Day is incredible. It’s a real highlight of the summer, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone.”
Over 16,000 racegoers are expected to attend on Saturday 26 July for a spectacular line-up including seven thrilling races, the ever-glamorous Style Awards, and an unmissable Bongo’s Bingo Party to end the day in style. The celebrations will continue into the night at the official after party hosted by Jalou.
Each year, the event grows in popularity — and this year is no exception. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the big day…
Race day
Gates will open at 11am, with offers available and 50% off selected drinks for the first hour. There will be seven races, with the first taking place at 1:57pm and last at 5:27pm.
Premier Enclosure is nearly sold out and General Admission tickets are selling fast, however other tickets are still available and can be booked via Ladies Day ft Bongos Bingo Party. New hospitality packages for this year include Pizza & Prosecco, Bottomless Brunch and Rio’s at the Races in partnership with Rio Brazilian Steakhouse.
Outfit planning
Unlike other racecourses across the UK, Newcastle Racecourse encourages guests to express their signature and flamboyant style and not be bound by strict dress codes. For anyone still on the lookout for the perfect outfit, the racecourse has teamed up with local fashion rental platform, Hirestreet, to create a new dress edit with their top picks.
Hirestreet has shared its top ten ‘Newcastle Racecourse Approved’ styles available to order now ready for race day. Orders must be placed by Tuesday 22 July for standard delivery or Wednesday 23 July before 12pm for express shipping. To view the edit and order visit www.hirestreetuk.com.
Style Awards
Ladies Day has become known as an opportunity to go all out when it comes to stylish outfits. This year’s Style Awards will see the 10 best dressed walk away with some amazing prize bundles, which could include a £1,000 Dawson & Sanderson holiday voucher, Seaham Hall spa stay, an Eatflix experience, premier tickets for next year’s Ladies Day and much more (see full prize list below).
For those who’d like to enter, scouts from TTM Management will be onsite in every enclosure from 11am-2pm. Anyone who doesn’t see them can head to the TTM Management stand located in the Grandstand Hall. The Top 10 finalists will be contacted and invited into the Parade Ring at 3pm for the final judging to take place, before the winner is announced.
Bongo’s Bingo Party
Back by popular demand is the Bongo’s Bingo Party to close out Ladies Day with a bang. There will be a 90-minute DJ set, with lots of opportunities to get involved and win infamous prizes, from celebrity cardboard cut-outs to Henry Hoovers, giant inflatables and much more.
This will run until approximately 7:30pm.
After Party
The official After Party will be hosted at Jalou on Neville Street in the centre of Newcastle, which is known for its exciting cocktails and R&B soundtrack. The bar has been a favourite within the city’s nightlife scene since 2012, making it the perfect place to continue dancing into the night after a day at the races.
Jalou will be offering free entry for all Ladies Day ticket holders, with last entry at 2.30am. Newcastle Racecourse is organising free shuttle buses which will run from 4pm to 9pm, taking guests directly from the racecourse to Jalou.
One of the highlights of the social calendar in the North East, Ladies Day is the perfect place to enjoy a day out with friends and family. For more information visit Ladies Day ft Bongos Bingo Party.
