Life at NGI: Meet Molly

How long have you worked at NGI and what is your current job role?

I’ve been working at NGI since I graduated university in 2020. My role at NGI is in the Communications team as a PR & Communications Executive.

What does your average week look like?

Working in the Comms team across the corporate brand, inward investment team, and the convention bureau means that my week can be a bit of everything! Variety is very much the spice of my life.

My week usually consists of writing press releases for new inward investors, attending a conference or a networking event, and hosting visitors to the region and getting content for our social media channels.

Every now and then I get to get involved in things like attending the openings of new restaurants and venues in the city, other PR events and launches. I really enjoy attending media filming especially when it’s an interview I’ve secured for one of our senior team members.

What is your favourite thing about working at NGI?

Working with a team that is so passionate about this region and driven to see it thrive – it’s truly inspirational. I also love how plugged in I am with what is happening in Newcastle and Gateshead and seeing it develop and grow before my eyes.

Has there been a highlight in your role?

I think the highlight in my role was travelling overseas to Germany to represent Newcastle on an international stage and drive inward investment to the region. Another highlight was the first time I saw one of my press releases in print!
