Peppa Pig Market Opens at MetroCentre Gateshead

Families flocked to Metrocentre Gateshead on Saturday (29 November) as PEPPA PIG made a special appearance to officially open the brand-new PEPPA PIG Market – a colourful retail experience that launches as a prelude to groundbreaking immersive experience PEPPA PIG: Surprise Party, which will open its doors in March 2026.

Inspired by Peppa’s iconic “Shopping” episode, PEPPA PIG Market gives children an early peek into PEPPA’s world, inviting them to grab a mini trolley, explore the aisles and head to the checkout just like Peppa. Saturday’s celebrations drew in the crowds with a Peppa Pig meet-and-greet, product giveaways, queue rewards and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Metrocentre says the new shop presents a “landmark moment for the North”, offering families their first chance to step into PEPPA’s world ahead of next year’s full-scale immersive experience, Peppa Pig: Surprise Party, which will open just next door. Presented by Immersive Everywhere in collaboration with leading games, IP and toy company Hasbro, brand-new attraction invites little ones and their families to step inside the beloved animated series where they’ll explore Peppatown, meet Peppa’s friends and help plan the ultimate surprise celebration for Peppa herself. Blending live puppetry and theatrical performance with digital storytelling and sensory play, visitors are invited to explore at their own pace and engage with the experience however they like.

Peppa Pig Market will remain open throughout the festive season and, once the full immersive attraction opens next year, will become part of the wider PEPPA PIG: Surprise Party experience – while still remaining accessible to all shoppers visiting Metrocentre.
