Red Bull Tyne Ride returns to Newcastle

The most daring, urban motocross head-to-head, Red Bull Tyne Ride, is returning to Newcastle Quayside on the 30 August.
Taking place in the heart of the city, Red Bull Tyne Ride brings together some of the world’s best riders in the ultimate test of skill, speed, endurance, and nerve.
The event is the result of a collaboration between Red Bull and five-time FIM SuperEnduro World Champion and Red Bull athlete, Billy Bolt. Red Bull Tyne Ride combines the brutal technicality of enduro racing with the jaw-dropping airtime of BMX in a test of skill, speed, endurance, and nerve.
The event held on Quayside is free to the public and stars some of the biggest names in the world of Enduro, including Billy Bolt and reigning Red Bull Tyne Ride champion, Jonny Walker.
Last year’s inaugural event drew thousands to Quayside to watch the action, with the roar of the engines and impressive display of skill thrilling fans as 16 riders battled it out over three rounds.
Billy Bolt said: “Last year it felt like the whole of Newcastle came out to Quayside to watch the riders take on the track. It was epic – I’m really excited to bring it back again.”
Billy recently won his fifth SuperEnduro World Championship, claiming victory in his hometown of Newcastle to complete a dominant season which saw him top the podium in every round. While battling injury last year, Billy is expected to compete in this year’s event and continue his winning streak.
However, reigning champ, and fellow Red Bull athlete, Jonny Walker, will be stood in his way. Another rider who has reached new levels this year, Jonny signed with Triumph racing in 2024 and is going from strength to strength with his new team.
Jonny Walker said: “Last year’s event was one of the coolest I’ve ever done. Being right in the city brings an amazing atmosphere, to see people’s faces up close as you’re riding by them, the joy it brings – it’s awesome to see.”
In addition to being in touching distance of fans, riders must overcome several unique twists along the course, from technical tests like the boulder garden and log-matrix, to the gravity-defying wall ride, plucked straight from the world of BMX.
