Collaboration, visitor experiences that make memories and core themes at the first-ever Destination North East England tourism conference.
Destination North East England has delivered Proud Allies Training for more than XX tourism and hospitality staff across our region, to ensure all visitors from the LGBTQIA+ community feel welcome.
Delivered by Northern Pride in partnership with Curious Arts, this training was developed to ensure progression and excellence in equality, diversity, and inclusion. In particular, those actively looking to create safe and welcoming working and customer environments for LGBTQIA+ people.
The Proud Allies training will raise awareness and increase confidence around inclusive language, engaging with LGBTQIA+ communities and people, and increase understanding of the intersectionality of the LGBTQIA+ community. The training course has been designed with a range of professionals and community members from a wide representation across LGBTQIA+ community including people of faith, people with disabilities, and gender non-conforming people. Training sessions are suitable for all employees with the added benefit towards team members working within public facing roles, customer service, marketing, HR, and management teams, or for those who are looking to be better allies and role models for others.
