Newcastle’s State of the City event: 5pm, Thurs 21 Sept @ Newcastle Science Central

I’m delighted to invite you to Newcastle’s annual State of the City event taking place on Thursday 21 September 2017, with registration / networking from 5pm, and the event will run from 5.30-7.00pm, with an opportunity for networking after.

This year our venue is Newcastle University’s newly opened Urban Sciences Building, on our landmark development Newcastle Science Central.

State of the City is our flagship partnership event, bringing together key business leaders, decision makers, public sector partners and the wider civic society, and provides a platform to consider progress made across the city in the past year, alongside opportunities and challenges we all face moving forward.

Given the outcome of the General Election, forthcoming Brexit debates, and of course the North of Tyne devolution negotiations which are nearing completion, as well as continued growth in Newcastle, this year’s event is arguably more significant than ever.

The event will include thought-provoking speeches, and panel discussions with an interactive question-time session to debate the key issues for the city.

Alan Laing, Managing Director from software giant Sage plc will provide the keynote address, and I’ll be joined on the panel by Giselle Stewart, Director of UK Corporate Affairs at Ubisoft, as well as our Chief Executive Pat Ritchie. Ben Lucas from Metro Dynamics will facilitate proceedings.

I do hope you are able to attend and be part of the conversation, as we invite views from partners from across the city, to agree how we move forward collectively.

Please confirm your attendance by registering here.*

I look forward to welcoming you to what I’m sure will be a thought-provoking discussion.
