Newcastle International Airport gets ready for a busy summer with hundreds of job vacancies available now

In early January the North East’s largest Airport, Newcastle International, hosted an aviation focused careers fair aimed at those looking for a career in the industry. The fair saw the Airport and some of its largest business partners advertise over 500 job vacancies across the site.

Organised in conjunction with the Newcastle United Foundation, the SAFC Foundation of Light and Newcastle College, the event was hosted at St James’ Park in Newcastle and attended by hundreds of candidates looking for a new, exciting career in the industry.

The event was a great success, but for those who couldn’t make it on the day, there are still vacancies available.

By visiting the Airport’s website, interested candidates can find out more about the various roles within the Airport such as Security Officers, Passenger Services Assistants and Car Park Operatives – all of which include a bonus of £250 on completion of 20 weeks continuous service.

Also, candidates can still apply for vacancies with the Airport’s business partners – including Customer Service Representatives with Jet2.com, Aircraft Dispatchers with Swissport, Kitchen Assistants and Team Leaders with SSP, Warehouse Operatives and HGV Drivers with dnata or Sales Assistants with Greggs and Travelex.

As one of the largest employers in the region, the Airport offers a range of exciting career prospects, alongside flexible shift patterns and a mix of full and part time positions. Those interested in applying can expect to find entry level, as well as team leader and managerial vacancies on offer.

Nick Jones, Chief Executive of Newcastle International Airport said: “We have some fantastic opportunities available at the Airport and the Careers Fair saw hundreds of potential candidates attend to find out more from our Airport teams and business partners.

“There are still some vacancies available and I would encourage anyone who was interested in a role but couldn’t attend on the day to consider applying.

“The Newcastle International Airport website contains all the information you need on the vacancies and how to apply. It’s a very exciting time for the business as we prepare for a busy summer season and we are very much looking forward to welcoming our new team members!”
