DFDS brings Christmas cheer to local youngsters with ‘sail with santa’ event

DFDS will host an exclusive ‘Sail with Santa’ event for local families on Tuesday 4 December as part of Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas charity appeal.

The event will take place on DFDS ship King Seaways at the Port of Tyne. It will see up to 250 children and their families enjoy an opportunity to meet with Santa and attend a specially-arranged Christmas party. Activities will include Christmas entertainment, face-painting and a festive meal prepared by the chefs on board.

Guests will be invited to the event by Cash for Kids, a children’s charity established to improve opportunities and provide life-changing experiences for young people across the UK. Sail with Santa will offer hundreds of local children from disadvantaged backgrounds or with life-limiting illnesses the chance to enjoy some festive fun.

Catherine Jowett, Head of Brand Marketing at DFDS said: “We’re delighted to partner with Cash for Kids and Metro Radio for our Sail with Santa event. We hope it will help to spread some Christmas cheer and provide a fun day out for local youngsters and their families.

“We’re so proud to be involved in this year’s Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal and to have the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children in our region by being part of this event.”
