A recent poll by Big 7 Travel has revealed that Newcastle is the UK’s friendliest city – proving what we always tell our visitors: we really are a friendly bunch ready to give a warm welcome to all!
The travel blog’s social audience of 1.5 million was asked to vote for where they would find the friendliest city in the UK, and Newcastle came out top of the list of 50 cities.
The results showed Northern cities dominating the friendliness perception, with York (3rd), Manchester (4th) and Liverpool (6th) also nearing the top of the list.
Listing the results, Big 7 Travel stated: “Newcastle takes top spot thanks to its lively locals, engaging social scene and ease of access for first time visitors.
“It’s family-friendly and safe, with heaps of culture and makes visitors soon feel like locals. The atmosphere in the Newcastle and beyond is hard to match, with a homey feel and locals who go the extra mile to welcome tourists.”
