The Lakes Distillery set sail. The ONE British Isle Blended Whisky selected for Brittany Ferries
From April, the Award winning British Isle blended whisky, The ONE, will set sail onboard all nine routes across the Brittany Ferries portfolio.
This is another key milestone for the multi-award winning Lakes Distillery located in the heart of The Lake District.
The Lakes Distillery is the largest whisky distillery in England, producing a range of innovative spirits of the highest quality and the eagerly anticipated Lakes Single Malt in 2018.
The distillery is set in a lovingly restored 19th century Victorian model farm, with many features still present in the transformation to distillery.
Elements are sourced from the only lake in the Lake District, Lake Bassenthwaite.
This new partnership allows passengers to sample and buy the 70cl bottles of The ONE on board, with the brand-new sense of place packaging whilst they travel with Brittany Ferries.
Nigel Mills, Chairman of The Lakes Distillery said “As a leader of the growing English Whisky industry we are in a prime position to export our products.
“To date we have successfully launched our British blended whisky, The One, to Taiwan, one of the world’s largest consumers of whisky.
“This is an important milestone on our journey as we start to leave a significant footprint on the world spirits market.”
The ONE will be available on ferries including Plymouth, Poole and Portsmouth to destinations across Europe, including: Roscoff, Cherbourg, Saint-Malo, Caen, Cork and Santander.
The first ships to take The ONE on board this week are Armorique, Mont St Michel and Pont Aven.

From sea to air, The Lakes Distillery are about to take off in airports across the world within World Duty Free, with the activation of The ONE and The Lakes Gin launching globally, cementing the award-winning quality and British craft of their spirits.
“We are currently focusing on other key markets for craft spirits. As of last week, we have successfully shipped our first order of The One, The Lakes Gin, The Lakes Vodka and The Lakes Gin Explorer to Australia where we will be listed in up to nine key airports in Australia and New Zealand.
“As we move towards releasing The Lakes Malt in 2018 we aim to continue to export to target markets such as France, South Africa and Canada as we fly the flag for British craft spirits.” Nigel Mills added.
The Lakes Distillery is opening the gateway to Cumbria as it begins to cement the brand as The ONE to watch.
