A giant model of the famous Hadrian’s Wall is now available as the backdrop for dinners and events at a leading North East museum.
The Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle is now taking bookings for corporate dinners and events in its Hadrian’s Wall Gallery, which features a 1:4700 scale model of the 73-mile wall.
The model forms part of an interactive gallery which gives visitors the chance to discover the history of the famous wall, built to serve as the northern frontier of the mighty Roman Empire.
For a limited time, it will be available for corporate functions and weddings, giving clients and guests the chance to enjoy a dinner to remember among a wealth of archaeological finds.
“We are delighted to be able to offer our stunning, interactive Hadrian’s Wall Gallery as a venue for corporate events, dinners and other functions,” said Joanne Everett, events co-ordinator at Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, which manages catering and events at the museum.
“By choosing to host an event here with us, clients can be sure their guests will be very well looked after and enjoy a night to remember in an unforgettable venue surrounded by unique exhibits.
Parties of up to 100 can enjoy drinks and canapés in the adjoining Living Planet Gallery, where guests can get up close and personal with exhibits including an elephant and a great white shark, before moving into the Hadrian’s Wall Gallery for a dinner.
Larger parties of up to 220 guests can utilise both the Hadrian’s Wall and Living Planet galleries, and there is also a larger exhibition area which can hold up to 443 people. Bespoke menus are available, along with themed banquets.
“So many people today are looking for alternative venues for their corporate events, weddings and private functions, and we believe our unique galleries offer everything they could need for a night that people will talk about and remember for many years to come,” added Joanne.
