Call for digital artists: “Hidden Newcastle” mobile photo competition!

Mobile apps and engagement specialist, mkodo has announced the launch of its mobile device photo competition ‘Hidden Newcastle’.

The mkodo team is calling on digital artists, whether novice or professional, to submit photographs, taken on mobile devices, that encapsulate the ‘Hidden Newcastle’ theme. Winning entries will receive cash prizes and will feature as artworks in mkodo’s superb new office space on Dean Street.

The competition celebrates mkodo’s expansion in Newcastle, following a successful landing in the city in early 2016, with the opening of its Dean Street office last Monday.

Stacey Wilkins, mkodo’s marketing manager, said: ‘With the competition, we are looking for people to capture the essence of what makes Newcastle a hidden gem to people visiting, living, studying and working in the city. This will reflect the mkodo team’s feeling that we have found a gem of a city, with the fantastic assistance of the team at Newcastle Gateshead Initiative (NGI), in which to focus our business expansion.’

Competition entries will be in high-resolution photograph format taken on mobile phone or tablet. Entries will be judged by mkodo’s Managing Director, Stuart Godfree, NGI’s Digital Marketing Manager, Marc Burns and a judge from a prominent arts venue in the city, to be announced. To be in with a chance of winning a cash prize of (1) £250, (2) £100 and (3) £50, entries MUST be taken on a mobile phone or tablet, copyright free and not contain unauthorised photographs of recognisable people. Entries should be submitted to competition@mkodo.com along with your full name and mobile phone number, by 12 noon on Friday 5th May, 2017 with winners announced during Newcastle start-up week, 15th – 19th May.
