Wipe out the January blues with a splash of tartan and party like it’s 1759!
At Life, we are celebrating the birthday of Scotland’s national poet with our own unique twist. You’ll get delicious home cooked food, a wee dram or two and dancing to a live band – with a few science ceilidh dances thrown into the mix.
Top North East ceilidh band Angels of the North will provide the rousing tunes for both the traditional and novel ceilidh dances. The science ceilidh dances combine traditional dance movements to illustrate something about the world around us.
Are you a bit rusty on the moves? Fear not, the band will talk you through the dances. They’ll also share a few fascinating titbits about Scotland, revealing what the country shouldn’t be famous for (spoiler: the kilt was designed by a Quaker from Bolton!) and the many genuine Scottish discoveries.
